WORLD ENDURANCE MOTORCYCLE CHAMPIONSHIP
2005
ENTRY:
- NOWLAND
RETURNS
Former
world endurance champion Warwick Nowland will return to Endurance
racing in 2005. He has been riding in World Superbikes for 2 years
without much success. He will join Phase One Yamaha Team.
NOWLAND: "... I really want to win the Endurance World Championship
again. In 2003 I felt it was my Championship until silly things got
in the way. I am obsessed with winning and after the effort I put
in last year, for it to amount to nothing, I’m angry, it’s
time to do something great"
PRESS RELEASE (JAN
25, 2005)
- The provisional
permanent team entry list for the 2005 FIM World Endurance Championship
has been announced today.
- New Faces, New
Teams: 18 teams and 44 riders are already confirmed, with a number of
new entries adding to the ranks of experienced championship regulars.
Bridgestone Bikers Profi from Germany and Team Power Bike from France
have both achieved “permanent team” status for the first
time this year, while top Japanese rider Keiichi Kitagawa joins Suzuki
Castrol and French endurance ace Gwen Giabbani moves to Yamaha Austria.
- 15 Nations, 6 Manufacturers:
A total of 15 nations are represented in the entry list, with teams
from eight countries and riders from 14 different nationalities. The
World Endurance Championship’s diverse spread of machinery is
a feature once more, with bikes from six manufacturers already signed
up to compete in the full championship. With one-race wildcard entries,
2004 saw more than twelve factories represented and the season 2005
is expected to no different; the World Endurance Championship continues
to offer a great development arena. Championship Begins 28th March.
