2005 WORLD & AMA SUPERCROSS  

• Ricky Carmichael has won the 2005 AMA 250 Supercross championship - the first for Suzuki since 1981. This is Carmichael's 4th 250 title and 12th national title overall. “I can’t believe it. I don’t think anyone thought I would be up here, but it’s good to prove them wrong. I don’t care how many races I’ve won, I earned the number 1 plate"
• Ricky Carmichael has won the 2005 World Supercross championship by finishing 3rd at Qwest (April 16, 2005)
  "This championship means a lot to me and I look forward to the rest of the season. The THQ World Supercross GP championship was the only one I have not won, so I am excited for this opportunity.” Ther are 2 more rounds still to go.

• After missing the 2004 season through injury, the 3 times AMA Supercross champion Ricky Carmichael is back. He will ride Suzuki to contest the world supercross championship starting in Canada.
  CARMICHAEL: "... Since the Maxxis U.S. Open, I have really increased my training and riding to ensure that I am in top shape for the THQ World Supercross GP ... This is going to be one heck of a season, and I am hungry to win my first THQ World Supercross GP championship"
