WINS BY RUTTER & HASLAM - ROUND 4, OULTON PARK

  • OVERALL WINNER, RUTTER (HONDA): “In Kiyonari’s absence, it was important for me to maintain HM Plant Honda Racing’s advantage in this year’s series. The bike has been absolutely fantastic here today, which made my task easier. The team is working so hard at the moment and it’s great to see the rewards. I’m trying to get as many points as I can over my injured team-mate, because he’ll be the one to look out for when he returns.”
  • WINNER RACE 2, HASLAM (DUCATI): “I wanted that victory – it is fantastic for me and the team.”
  • KIYONARI MISS ROUND: The winner of first 4 races Ryuichi Kiyonari did not race this weekend due to injury from Mallory Park.
  • BEFORE RACE, RUTTER: “It is a pity that Kiyo cannot race, but I have a job to do, and that is to get out there and score some serious points – a repeat of the winning double of last Sunday would be the ideal.”

PRE RACE:

  • RUTTER (HONDA): “I’m really revved up for Oulton Park. The HM Plant Honda Racing team as a whole has had a fantastic season so far and we’re aiming to ensure that continues. I’ve made no secret of my desire to secure the title this year and I know I’m going to have to work really hard to cement my lead over the next ten rounds – particularly with Kiyo as a team mate!”
  • KIYONARI (HONDA): “I’m feeling a little beaten up at the moment. My ankle is sore and my left ankle is also still hurting from (an accident at) Thruxton, but I hope that won’t stop me from challenging for more race wins. I hurt my collarbone at Oulton Park last year, so I’m hoping for a bit more luck there this season.”
  • HASLAM (DUCATI): “I was really pleased with the way things went at Mallory- the team worked hard all weekend, so I was delighted to gain two excellent results and my first podium of the season. That result has meant I’m raring to go at Oulton and want to be challenging for more podiums and hopefully my first victory of the season. I’ve always liked Oulton Park and I’m confident that we can do well there.”
  • LAVILLA (DUCATI): “Mallory Park was a completely different type of track to the ones I’m used to. I’m told that Oulton Park has a much more international feel to it and is more in line with circuits that I have raced in the past- the lap length is much longer and the corners are more suited to my natural riding style. I’ve completely recovered from my accident last week and despite having never ridden at Oulton, I’m excited by the prospect and eager to get racing again”.
