BROOKES (HONDA): "... I actually didn’t get the
start I would have liked but still managed to pull away with the leader’s
pack. I did drop back a bit, to around fifth, but then realised I had
to try and stay with Kevin so I pushed it hard to get back up to second.
Once I got in behind him, I stayed close and used the slip stream as
much as possible ... I fully intended to try and get him on MG because
I knew I had the acceleration but I just hung on until the last lap...
I knew I was capable of winning here at the Island and once I felt comfortable
with the tyres and the set-up, I was even more confident. At the end
of day, it really felt like an Aussie Supersport race to me"
