PORSCHE GT3 RS WINS - GT CARS FINISH 1, 2, 3

GT class Porsche of Kevin Buckler, Michael Schrom, Jorg Bergmeister and Timo Bernhard won the 41st Daytona 24 Hours. They finished 9 laps ahead of another GT car (Ferrari 360) and beat all the more powerful GTS and Prototype cars.

QUOTE OVERALL WINNER (Buckler): " ... We knew we had a tiny chance ... but we just stayed consistent and didn't make any mistakes. The little Porsche was perfect .. "

The pole sitter, Ford Prototype of Maxwell, Brabham, Empringham finished 4th overall.
QUOTE POLE SITTER (Maxwell): " ... It is bit bittersweet, in the sense that we were so close we could taste the overall victory. Just a couple of little things cost us a lot of time .. If you had told us before the start of the weekend that we would actually finish the event, yet alone win it, we'd been pretty happy. It is a great result from Multimatic .. "
