After 71 years absence Bentley returned to Le Mans in 2001, and finished on the podium (3rd placing behind 2 AUDIs). Last year it finished 4th. This year the 2 factory Bentleys dominated the race by qualifying on pole; leading for about 22 hours; and winning. The car driven by Tom Kristensen (DEN), Guy Smith (UK), and Rinaldo Capello (ITA) also set a new Le Mans record of completing 377 laps in 24 hours.
