NICO ROSBERG SEASON END REPORT:
- “I am looking back on a tremendous season”
Now, after the celebrations are gone it is time to reflect on a tremendous
GP2 season. Nico Rosberg not only won the first GP2 series Championship,
he also set some more impressive results along the way: - The only driver
to win both races in one race weekend - The only driver to score at
every event - Most points scored at one race weekend (19 out of 22)
- Most pole positions during the season (four) - Most victories in a
season (five – record shared with Kovalainen) - Eleven podiums
“I am looking back on a tremendous season. To tell you the truth,
it is hard to believe what we have achieved during the 2005 championship.
We entered a new series with a totally new team. Nobody actually knew
what to expect. Maybe a few wins were possible? We just had no idea.
But we worked hard and improved step by step, working on every little
detail. This is what you have to do when you go up against a list of
teams and drivers of the quality we faced this season. But we worked
well as a team, and then the wins came. I was consistent and fast, and
in the end, it all went beyond my wildest expectations. I am so happy
and I want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO EVERYBODY who added to the
big success!”

- Alexandre Premat (FRA) "I
am delighted to pursue my career with this team, which I know very well
as I have been part of it for numerous years. I have worked with Frederic
Vasseur in Formula Renault and Formula 3 and we have always accomplished
great things together. Therefore I am very happy to take part in the
new GP2 challenge. I think that the team has all the assets and skills
required to achieve great things and I will aim for the title. I also
think that Nico Rosberg and I will make a very competitive duo, as he
is a very fast driver. We should motivate each other and move the team
forward"
- Nico Rosberg
- Nicolas Todt (CEO, ART GP):
"Alexandre brilliantly won two of the most prestigious races of
the 2004 season, the international meetings of Zandvoort and Macao,
and had a good run in the F3 EuroSeries championship, ending the season
in second position. I think that with Alexandre and Nico, ART Grand
Prix will benefit from the services of a very balanced and efficient
duo. I also believe that signing a Frenchman such as Alexandre will
be appreciated by most of the country, which will now have at least
three drivers in the GP2 championship, as times are not that good in
regard to Frenchmen in Formula 1 right now"

I am delighted to be driving with DAMS, a team with such strong European
success and heritage. I am looking to a good working relationship and
continuing their success with me"
- DAMS (Jean-Paul Driot, CEO): "...
The combination of DAMS, Lopez and Eric Boullier was a great experience
in 2003 which resulted with the title win. The level of Teams and drivers
in this coming season is expected to be very high. DAMS is coming in
GP2 to win and we wanted to put together the maximum chances of success.
Jose-Maria Lopez was making part of our plans to make the best combination
we could, and I am really delighted today to see him back in our Team.
Fairuz is young and talented, he has shown a great potential this season
in England and this first season in GP2 will be the year to confirm
