Nelson Piquet Jr. wins 2004 championship

  • the son of former world F1 champion Nelson Piquet won 2004 British Formula 3 championship. He becomes the youngest ever champion and finished the season with 6 race wins including the season finale. Adam Carroll finished runner-up.
  • PIQUET JR.: "... I'm so happy to finish (the championship) with a win ... It was the best way to finish the season ... I worked very hard to win the championship. I am sure that this victory will be very important for my ambition, which is to be in Formula One"

  • 21 year old Australian won a round last year in his debut season. In 2001 he won the Australian Formula Ford Championship.

  • Fairuz Fauzy joins Menu Motorsports
  • 21 year old Malaysian Fairuz Fauzy will drive alongside Will Davidson for the team owned by Alain Menu.
