Y.O CHILTON'S MAIDEN WIN
- Tom
Chilton's win
in Race 3 makes him the youngest ever BTTC winner.
"... Finally! ... It's been a long time. I was braking three car
lengths earlier as I knew if I got a good run I could have them".
- Yvan
Muller missed
the final race after his car had oil leak during the formation lap.
- Anthony
Reid has been penalised (10 sec) for pushing Thompson in Race
3. Reid finished 2nd but will now be relegated down to 4th after penalty.
THOMPSON: "... The bloke just turned me around
and then I just got hit by everybody else. He's a clown - he should be
juggling balls in the circus. Yes, I'm pretty cheesed off about it.
There were a load of culprits who didn't attempt to overtake, just punt
me out the way.Very frustrating"

QUALIFYING:
SEAT
& PLATO ON POLE
PLATO
(SEAT): "... That was fantastic ...
After the weekend we had at Brands Hatch we’ve come right back
with a great performance. We had a bit of a plan. I needed to have hot
tyres on the rear so we ran with wets on the back to start with until
the slicks got up to temperature. I thought I’d messed up because
I did one too many laps on the wets, but it worked out ok. It’s
really good, and we’ve got some new updates on the car that seem
to be doing the job.”

PRE
RACE QUOTES:
-
HINES
(VAUXHALL): "...
I learnt a lot at Brands Hatch ... It was a mixed weekend for me in
terms of results, but to take my first win so early in the season
is just fantastic. The extra weight of the success ballast has a major
effect on the car, but I will be going to Silverstone with the advantage
of racing in a lighter car. I have every intention of closing the
gap to James and Yvan and making it into the top three in the drivers
championship."
-
THOMPSON
(VAUXHALL):
"... The success ballast played a crucial role at Brands Hatch,
and I'm sure it will at Silverstone. We know the Astra handles well
with the extra weight but I'll be carrying the maximum, so it will
be difficult to get a good qualifying position. As always we will
be working on getting the most out of the weekend, and aiming to take
as many points as we can."
