"I bought a diesel Cruze in December 2009 and after waiting 4 months for delivery, I wish it had never arrived. Since the 30,000km service the car has refused to start six or seven times and has been towed to the nearest dealer 5 times. When you turn the key, there is a click and then nothing.
The dealer has replaced the ECM, starter relays, fuse box, and the list goes on. Within a week of getting the car back after it is off the road for a week or two, it leaves me on the side of the road again.
This problem is annoying however the symptoms have progressed and now the car will stall randomly whilst driving causing the power steering to stop and the brake booster to cease working. When the car stalls, code 84 is displayed on the dash and all power is lost. The engine light and the glow plug light flash on and off. I have run off the road due to the car stalling mid-corner and my partner has also been placed in a dangerous position when it stalled mid round-about. This is dangerous and my partner now refuses to drive the car at all.
Holden have had the car back numerous times yet they seem unable to find the fault. They just want to plug in a new part and give it back to fail again.
Oh yeah, add on the cruise control which turns itself off when it doesn't want to work anymore and the code 82 which tells me that the oil needs replacing 500km before the service is due. The interior passenger door handle which lost it's chrome coating, the drivers door arm rest which cracked when I was adjusting my driving position.
Do not buy a Cruze."
