I DID HEAR TO GO 2.5 EXHAUST & MAYBE A CHIP NOT SURE YET.

"Hello
I own a Nissan Navara 2008 STX 2.5 TD. I have had a pressure relief valve pop under towing load. The ute goes into a limp home mode which **** me up if I’m at work or going somewhere. Got it fixed & then it happens again, this time all I did was I stalled. It’s going back tomorrow to get reset, what’s the deal?

I am thinking of selling but I did hear to go 2.5 exhaust & maybe a chip not sure yet.

Regards"

"Hi Scott,

I bought a Nissan Navara ST-X Turbo Diesel ONE week ago and it’s currently now back at the dealership getting fixed. I spotted Diesel leaking from underneath and called the Care line for a tow (from the country I might add, I wasn't happy at all).

Now it’s in at the dealership and they said that I need a new Fuel Injection pump and it could take a few days. I'm so mad that I might have just bought a Lemon of a car so I’m looking for anyone who might have had other issues with the brand. I don't believe the dealership at all (according to them my car it the first in Australia to have a problem, what a lot of **** I thought).

I have been doing a bit of research and found out Australia have no laws against dealerships selling lemon cars (Stupid Government). Although I have started a log of every time it goes in to the dealership and how long etc. It’s only One Week Old.

If you know of any other issues I should keep a eye out for let me know and while it’s under warranty I'm going to be the most annoying customer ever

Tanya"

"NISSAN NAVARA STX D40 2007: FULL OF IT - In my last bleat about this car cutting out and losing power in which Nissan could not find the problem they have finally found the problem. I took it to them a week ago while it was playing up and they tell me it’s the fuel pump. Great! Let’s get a new pump and it will be sorted, 20 working day to get one from Europe. What a joke!

Then two days later or something they just happen to find 2 in Melbourne. In the mean time I have asked for a courtesy car as my piece of junk has been useless to me and my family {this going on for 2-3 months}. Now the place that’s doing the repairs have the pump and parts that were approved by Nissan. But now Nissan have done a back flip and told them not to touch the car {after it was sitting at Nissan for three days and didn't get touched}.

Now they want to replace the fuel rail. What For? When the mechanic diagnosed it as the fuel pump, now I got to wait until the fuel rail gets here. So now I will have to wait who knows how long for that, and all without a car. I'm fed up with this company and its product. I will not buy this brand ever again and I will certainly be going out of my way to voice my opinion to anyone who has thoughts of buying this model. I should have bought with my heart and not my head, a Ford."

Hi Scott,
I understand your frustration. You should, in writing, ask some questions of Nissan Australia. Like why they are changing the fuel rail when the pump was diagnosed as the problem. Also ask why it takes so long for repairs to be carried out. Let them know that being without your work vehicle for days or weeks and having this problem for 3 months is totaly unacceptable and that you want to be compensated for it. Hopefully you might get a free service out of it. Post on this site how the Navara is after the repairs.
Good Luck,
Mark.

I bought my STX Feb 2006. 11 month later the clutch blew. I had massive fights told them I was going to put it through their front window. I am not paying $4,800 for a new clutch ,in the end they gave in and yes to all you out there they said it was a faulty batch.

4 month later it is doing it again and my paint work is flaking off. Nissan informed me today to book it in. They will pull it apart if nothing found wrong it will cost $750.00 for them to refit. I told them to ****.

I called Today Tonight. I was told to find more with the same problem and they will do a show. So anyone that has had their clutch replaced please email me.

Hi Tanya
I have an STR turbo diesel 2003 model 40000kms on the clock .I have also had problems galore with this pile of ****. Firstly it was losing power not going over 40kms an hour then when I pulled over it would just stop so turn off the key and it goes for another 20mins and does it again. Took it in to Nissan and after 3 fuel filters it was then decided to clean out the tank (full removal) clean the lines and another filter. Only got about 10kms and the engine light comes on - water in the filter remember that was a new one.

Took it back the next day and it this time it was quite driveable with no power loss. They diagnosed with the computer, contaminated fuel code came up so nearly $4000.00 for a fuel injection pump.

I have my car back, for 3 weeks, was driving along and the engine light came on again no water in the fuel only basic fuel filter stuff but when I took it back in it was in limp mode and driving like a dog. They put the machine on again and guess what contaminated fuel code. So sent it to Melbourne at my expense but they said there was nothing wrong, as they would! Cleared the code and sent it back but can't explain the code.

2 weeks now, also a new lift pump and the labour etc another 700.00. I am ready to burn it and buy a Toyota no one can give me any answers. Nissan say they have not had this problem before and can't offer any suggestions as to why it's happening.

You guys don't have enough to winge about. I bought a new Jeep Cherokee (2005), and over a two year period had two new gearboxes replaced, Torque converter, Booster & master brake cylinders replaced, a diesel pre-heater contraption replaced (two weeks off the road) hand brake reassembled and the list goes on.

With the warranty period expiry date closing in I decided to replace it with a new Navara STX. I had the driver’s door mechanism go faulty on me, arranged with Cleveland Nissan to rectify. They offered to rectify immediately. They removed the identical part from a new vehicle and had me back on the road within an Hour.

New vehicles like everything else can & do go wrong. But to have a diesel leak (minor) is over the top and to go to these lengths of complaint, I think needs some attitude adjustment on the par of the owner.

I have had 2 Landrovers, 2 Toyota diesel Hilux and 2 Nissan Patrols. The Nissan's are the only ones that I have had clutch problems. My latest Nissan was purchased September 2007 - it is a ST 3.00 Turbo diesel with 28000 klms on the clock & the clutch has gone.

Nissan say it is my driving even though I have been driving for over 46 years, 28 of these 4x4 driving. The dealer doesn't want to know you & Nissan Australia doesn't either. Their so called customer service said it has been known for the clutches to go even lower klms than 28000 & is not a warranty claim.

The service Manager at the dealership was aghast that I had taken the car on the beach once as that could cause problems. I thought I had paid in excess of $50000 for a real 4x4 not one that I just had to polish & keep in the garage. It is going to cost $2500 for an after market clutch as used by racing 4x4's.

If anyone has any success with Nissan as it has been pointed out to us on a couple of occasions that the turbo diesel engines are too powerful for the clutch Nissan supplies.

Navara D40 2.4 diesel: new fuel pump injectors wheel bearings immobilizer sensor. The warranty is now up. The rear axle is now noisy have sourced a second hand one. Also the injectors are rattling when accelerating now trying to sort out this problem.

I own a 13 year old Hilux 4x4 which I use for my work, never lets me down. I have owned 7 Toyota Hilux 4x4s no problems. Unfortunately I bought a D22, engines blown. Stupidly bought a Navara D40. First chance I get I will be buying a Toyota. Not a happy Nissan owner. Oh forgot - has also had 2 clutches now 3rd one on its way out, not bad for truck with 47,000 miles on the clock.
