"Our 2002 Kia Carnival (46,000 klm) blew up on the 26-9-09. Have just got it back (new engine installed, short motor) Cost $7000.00. Has any body had success with compensation from Kia?"

Reply back to me & I can forward information that will assist you to understand what to do etc. There is a class action about to start shortly. Unfortunately the cost to join the class action is around $500.

It is difficult for most “Victims” of KIA's poor quality to find the $500 after they have just spent thousands fixing their car so not a lot of people have joined the class action as was hoped. However enough have joined to still make the Class Action proceed.

To answer your question has anyone had success get money back form KIA. I know of several in WA who have had all or part of their costs refunded by KIA (I got a full refund). But KIA are now starting to dig in their heels & knocking back most claims.

There have been 10’s of thousands of KIA engine failures in their Carnivals from 1999 -2002 in fact over 90% of these engines have failed (That’s Right 90%).

KIA claim to have fixed the fault in their engines in March 2002 & all vehicles since then have been perfect? You only have to read the postings on this site from KIA Carnival owners with vehicles made after March 2002 to realize their claim to have fixed this fault in March 2002 as far fetched.

Regards
