KIA SORENTO LX 2004: DOOR LOCKS, EMERGENCY FLASHERS, HORN AND WIPERS GO CRAZY ON AND ON

I AM WORRIED THAT THE CAR WILL SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING.
"I have a 2004 Kia Sorento 119,000 miles on it. It has been a great car, but a few weeks ago while driving home from the beach, my wind shield wipers turned on all by itself and would not turn off. After about 5 minutes my lights in the interior and emergency lights and horn started going off and then all the door locks were clicking on and off. This continued for about 1 minute then stopped then did it again for about a minute. The wipers did not stop for about an hour. I got home and did not use the car until the next day. No Problems. About 2 weeks later this happened again. Is anyone else experiencing this? The dealership said that no one has complained about this to them! I am worried that the car will shut down while driving."

========== REPLY ========== This type of problem is hard to pinpoint. It reminds me of a similar problem that I had. but not as bad as you. I’m not a mechanic... but with electronics, the first thing I would either change is the battery, as this is the heart of any motor vehicle. If it’s more than 5 years at the most ... change it now. By doing this you’re going to avoid further problems. It’s amazing just what a steady supply of power throughout the whole network that your car requires.You just might notice a major difference, straight away? by illuminating the power supply as the source of your problems. The next item that I would point to is circuit board fail which needs to be tested, either on or off the vehicle. These items are an exchange job. So in brief. It’s a relay problem. Or your vehicle needs a heart bypass / a new battery. Hope this helps, we all get problems and there is a solution. Someone knows more than I do and a lot of educated mechanics don’t...
