"I purchased my Nissan GU turbo diesel new in 1999 fitted diff locks winches etc. In 2000 one overloaded vehicle towing off road camper travelled extensively off road to Cape York. On returning home I ‘spun’ the clutch at Townsville. I ordered a h/duty replacement clutch when I got home. This was fitted pre Xmas 2008 with 300,000 ks travelled (about 274000 ks after the incident).
The vehicle has towed a 6.5 mt boat, about 2.7tons around most of Central Qld as well as a tandem axle work trailer up to 3.5 tons most of its life. I put the life of the clutch down to selecting low range (free wheeling hubs disengaged) whenever moving the vehicle/s in tight spots.
P.S the turbo was replaced with the "bigger roller unit” and runs 14lb boost some 2.5 years ago.
I cannot complain."
