========== REPLY ========== "Hi Mandy, we have a Longreach too and have nothing but problems. Can you please contact me and we can discuss further.
Cheers Shanelle" POSTED BY: SHANELLE - SYDNEY, NSW - AUS 9 JUL 2009 ========== REPLY ========== "I purchased a Longreach Winnebago at Geelong brand new in Feb 2009. Today we are still having problems.
The short list of problems:
1. Diesel heater not connected. 2. Washing machine taps not connected properly. 3. Mic/wave, still getting fixed. 4. Gas oven been fixed but still not working properly. 5. 12 volt meter was not working. Got it fixed. 6. T/V. DVD broken. Got that fixed. 7. Couldn’t pump up tyres because the extensions were to long. You had to take off the back wheels to check the pressure. 8. Sat Nav was broken. Isuzu fixed it straight away without any hassles. 9. I opened the front door & the handle broke in my hand. They posted me a new one down & wanted to charge me . I so no way. 10. Toilet kept blocking. A real pain. We found out that you can only use 1 ply toilet paper. 11. Tail shaft recalled. No problem because that was Isuzu. They fixed without any hassles. 12. Fridge stuffed.
I had the RV at a Winnebago repairer for 3 weeks & they didn’t plug it in to 240 volt. This made all our food go off in the freezer. The fridge can’t be used & no one will take the blame. We told the repairer that it was our home & to plug it in as the fridge was full. He said OK. We now call our Longreach the dryreach or gutreach (not sure yet) & the smell was so bad it made me dryreach cleaning it out. The off food went into the cracks in the back of the freezer & even Winnebago said you won’t get the smell out. They said we will need a new fridge. But of course they won’t pay. Our insurance won’t pay either because it was the repairers fault.
I have found Winnebago to have poor warranty service (if any). This RV cost $235,000 & Winnebago won’t help us solve this problem. It is very hard living in a motor home without a fridge.
Can any one help us as we have had the RV for 4 months & done 10,000km mainly getting it repaired. I have only just started sleeping in it as the smell has gone away? or I’ve got use to it. We need a new fridge & Winnebago won’t help. The problem I find with Winnebago is when you buy something brand new & most of the items don’t work they repair them instead of replacing them. This is at our cost to get the items to the repairer.
This life time saving event for retirement has been a killer. We are so saddened by the poor service. They say sorry but sorry means nothing when they can do something about it & they won’t. I will never buy a Winnebago again, as long as I live.
When I get the fridge fixed I will try to sell it. I know I will lose $$ but our health is more important than dealing with Winnebago directly head office. Sometimes it’s better to cut your losses & walk away. If you’re looking to buy a Winnebago email me & I can tell you more about the poor service." ========== ORIGINAL POSTING ========== "MOTORHOME WINNEBAGO LONGREACH 2004: NOT GOOD ENOUGH - I purchased a new Winnebago Explorer Motorhome/home from Southern RV / Geelong Vic in Dec 2003. It proved extremely unsafe and very poorly built; dealer refused to do warranty service. Had to trade in after 6 months as 1/2 the time was spent driving for service (not at dealer) paid for myself. Lost $41000
Purchased new upgrade Winnebago Bundaleer Motorhome in Aug 2004. Side walls were cracked prior to delivery - so had to be returned to factory. We were given guarantee it would never crack again. After 12 months, severe cracks developed. Repaired and lasted 7 weeks - cracked again in 3 places.
Many other problems: Engine electrics House electrics Engine coolant Rear axle alignment Alternator pulley Water pump Solar switch
Many of these Bundaleers have these problems. Winnebago Don’t Care. Since Dec 2003, we have Not had one day of trouble free operation.
Have worked for 54 years, we thought we would like to see Aussie - haven't been anywhere yet? Rainboaussie"" POSTED BY: C MULLER - WARRACKNABEAL, VIC - AUS 4 JUL 2006

========== REPLY ========== Jeeezzz... and I was going to buy a Winnebago.... not now, not ever. Looking at a 4x4 plus a high clearage caravan now. Better I think than to have all these problems when you pay $1,000's for problems.
Hope all your issues are fixed. Once bitten, twice shy. POSTED BY: CUSTER OF THE 7TH - BRISBANE, QLD - AUS 23 JUL 2009 |
