"After nearly 18mths of trying to have this problem 'diagnosed' let alone fixed it has finally happened! Turns out the coil in the ignition/starter barrel was broken, so after fitting new coil which also required 2 new keys - I can now turn the key without worrying if the car will start first time or take more key turns before it finally kicks over.
Apparently Kia have just recently advised all distributors advising of what to look for if this problem was reported (I don't think I was the only customer with this problem). Anyway thankfully this was all covered by warranty, now the only other problem I need fixed is a crack in the power steering column, again if anyone notices squeaking sounds from the steering wheel when turning, that's most likely what it is. Thanks to Eager's at Windsor, Qld for being so helpful, patient and understanding."
