Is there such a thing as a lemon? I have owned 6 other Jaguars prior to my latest - 20 months old and 20,000 kms on the clock. This one has been disappointing from the start:
1. A noticeable diff whine from new resulting replacement of the diff.
2. Bad vibration at rear end thru to steering wheel from new. No diagnosis, Jaguar suggested road noise.
3. Warped front wheel brake disc - had to be replaced from new.
4. Reluctance to change out of low gear requiring reconfiguration.
5. Severe vibration at rear end finally diagnosed as flat spots (laminations) on all 4 Pirelli tyres necessitating replacement of all 4 with Yokahama Nitrogen filled tyres as recommended by the Jaguar dealer at a cost to me of $1430.
6. Leaking rear shock absorber requiring replacement from new.
The anxiety and inconvenience caused by this car is enough to persuade me, a previously dedicated Jaguar owner, to look elsewhere for my next car.
