My 2002 Holden Astra had the ignition barrel replaced under warranty a few years back and just today (and yes it is a hot day) I noticed the same problem happening. Just nothing doing when you try to turn the key. After a few attempts and pulling key out and turning around etc it finally went so looks like the same thing happening again. Lucky I have taken out extended warranty so should be covered.
A message to all who have extended warranty:
- please always check if parts are covered yourself direct through the extended warranty company
- I have had Holden themselves tell me a part was NOT covered by my extended warranty, however once I rang the company direct it all of a sudden was covered.
Somehow a "policy change" had been made without my Holden dealer being aware...yeah right. So please always go straight to the top and check each time as the extended warranties are covered by an external party.
