2005 ADMIRAL'S CUP
- Organiser: Royal
Ocean Racing Club (RORC)
- started as a private
challenge between British and American yachtsmen
- in 1957, the Fastnet
race became the final race of the Admiral's Cup challenge
- in 1959 the race
was opened to other nations
- in 1965 Admiral's
Cup there were teams from US, Sweden, Holland, France, Ireland and Australia
- in 1967 Admiral's
Cup was won by Australia
- in 1999 Fastnet
race was replaced with Wolf Rock Race as the principal offshore race.
