Mazda Introduces
Tariff Cut 2005 Pricing
From today Mazda Australia
has reduced its recommended retail pricing across its car range ahead
of the Federal Government’s move to reduce the tariff on imported
cars from 15 to 10 per cent from January 1.
Mazda Australia, which sells
more passenger cars than any other importer, is passing on the tariff
savings a month ahead of time, a move that will save between $660 and
$3,150 on its class-leading cars.
The hot-selling 104kW Mazda3,
now more freely available as a result of additional stock arriving,
is priced from $20,690 for either the Neo sedan or hatch, a saving of
$800.
Standard features on Mazda3
Neo models include air conditioning, dual airbags, CD player, remote
central locking, split/fold rear seat, tilt and reach adjustable steering,
height adjustable driver’s seat, ‘bee sting’ aerial,
split fold rear seat with centre armrest, five lap/sash seatbelts, disc
brakes all round and five headrests.
The popular Mazda3 Maxx model
is now priced from $24,800, the Maxx Sport is $25,455 (down $920) and
the 115kW 2.3-litre SP23 sedan and hatch from $29,120, a saving of $1,070.
The managing director of
Mazda Australia, Doug Dickson, said: “Christmas has come early
for car buyers. From today Mazda is passing on the tariff price cuts
that come into affect on January 1.”
“As the largest importer
of passenger cars our move is a significant one for car buyers and will
help Mazda further extend its record breaking sales run.”
Mazda’s range is now
priced from $16,290 for the 1.5-litre Mazda2 Neo with air conditioning,
dual airbags, central locking and a CD player.
Mazda6, which is the top
selling imported medium car, also benefits from the tariff cut, with
the Mazda6 Limited sedan now priced from $27,690 (a saving of $1,230).
Other examples of the price
reductions on the Mazda6 range include the Classic hatch from $32,345
(a saving of $1,260) and the Luxury Sport hatch $39,800 (a saving of
$1,620).
Even Mazda’s flagship
model, the four-door, four-seat, rotary-powered RX-8 benefits from the
tariff change with the entry model now priced at $54,465 (a cut of $2,205),
while the Leather Pack manual model is now $60,100 (down $3,010).
The latest edition to the
RX-8 lineup, the RX-8 limited edition of which 110 will be sold, is
priced at $63,030.
The savings also apply to
the world’s best-selling sports car, the iconic MX-5, with the
price of the turbocharged SE model falling $1,800 to $43,690.
Mazda’s people
mover, the MPV is now priced at $44,990.
