With still just over two months to go, the Jayco Sterling range of caravans is so far ahead of the rest, it will be the No. 1 caravan brand for 2006.

Launched at the start of the year, replacing the Heritage luxury range of Jayco caravans, the Sterling has won a strong following to clearly be the country’s favorite top-of-the range caravan model. The range can be viewed at www.jayco.com.au

The success of the range, that stretches from 5.45 (17ft 10in) to 7.79 metres (25ft 7 in) models, has been Jayco’s commitment to ensuring it offers the booming recreational vehicle (RV) market a luxury production-line manufactured caravan at affordable prices.

The Sterling’s winning ways stem from Jayco containing costs, and also “value adding”, including installing fixtures and features that are offered as optional extras in other brands.

The company’s cost savings have come from years of manufacturing experience, using better, more high-tech processes and greater economies of scale by achieving an amazing 45 per cent of the entire RV market.

And along the way Jayco keeps setting the benchmark on industry standards. The 2006 models were no mere Heritage upgrade. They reflected offering designs that a more discerning market now demands, as more people choose RVs as their favourite holiday lifestyle.

Safety was also a consideration and the use of reversing sensors and LED side and clearance lights have been a winning combination. So too was the in-built spare wheel compartment set into the fibreglass rear end of the caravan.

The “look” of the Sterling also captured the public’s imagination, with an automotive sleek design and superb exterior finish.

Its “look” also invited people to discover for themselves the interior layout and the special features that clearly have assured that the Sterling is considered a top-class caravan.

Features include

28cm (15in) LCD screen and DVD/CD/MP3/AM/FM 12V stereo;
three-way Dometic RM 2553 fridge;
brushed aluminium appliances including stove and range-hood.
a recessed sink with glass lid;
a control panel which monitors water tank and battery levels; and
a 12 volt pump (which supersedes the bench hand pumps of earlier models).

The furniture, including overhead cupboard designs, has a European styling that also compliments the décor that cleverly uses a blend of colour combinations for the walls, curtains and cushions and the laminex bench tops. Curved furniture edging adds to the “feel” of spaciousness.

All Sterlings are built using Jayco’s patented and ever-reliable galvanized-dipped Millennium Chassis and Tough Frame construction. The walls and roof are fully insulated.
