A11. 2005 FXDL Dyna Low Rider

Rake out the front end, lower the rear suspension and whittle down the seat, and you get a beautiful long and low custom that delivers a look and feel like nothing else. So, it should come as no surprise the Low Rider® model has been a favorite since day one and never looked back. Today's version sports a pullback bar, mid-mount foot controls and a low-slung seat that's just over 25" off the pavement. Experiencing long and low has never felt more right. You get highway pegs and a fat rear tire. This year, we couldn't help but stretch the tank, giving the bike an even longer look. And the traditional carb Twin Cam 88® engine. It's everything that?s good about a factory custom. As only the Harley-Davidson factory can build.

A12. 2005 EFI FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide

If ever a set of handlebars could make a statement, it's right here. Take a look at the factory ape hangers on the front of this Wide Glide® model. No doubt, they spark thoughts of early tricked-out choppers. When you grab hold of them, that feeling comes rushing to life. Settle into the custom chopper seat, reach to the forward foot controls and stare down a distant horizon. It's a laid-back way to see a country. This year, it gets even better. With a restyled, stretched fuel tank and console. It sports a new 3-D Bar & Shield® with flame graphics. Custom all the way. You get a 21" laced front wheel, chromed sissy bar, backrest and raked fork. And a EFI Twin Cam 88® powertrain. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy.

A14. 2005 FXSTD Softail Deuce EFI

When you sign your name to the title of a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle, you know you're getting a bike with style. If that title belongs to a Deuce", you know you got style taken full-bore. From the raked-out fork, chrome riser and low-rise handlebar to the straight-cut dragster rear fender, nothing was held back. The stretched tank could only be topped off by a full-length chrome console. It's motorized art at its highest form. There are chrome fender supports and a Badlander®-inspired seat. And a pair of lustful eyes can't help but wander from the wire-laced front wheel to the 17" solid rear wheel with wide 160mm tire in back. Power comes by way of the Twin Cam 88B" engine, available in carb or EFI. It's just what's needed to pry all that sleekness off the showroom floor and onto the endless road ahead.

A15. 2005 FXSTDI Softail Deuce

Line up a thousand bikes curbside and chances are pretty good you'll find the crowd at the front tire of this work of chrome and steel. The DueceTM. Yes, the folks in Milwaukee did the eyes a giant favor when they dreamed up this one. Beginning with the raked-out front fork and chrome riser. Stretched fuel tank topped by a full-length chrome console. Rear fender supports, also in full chrome glory, with hidden fasteners. The rear fender gets a tough, straight-cut dragster profile. Up front is a laced wheel. In back, 17" of solid rear wheel with a wide 160mm tire. In front, the carburetted Twin Cam 88B. engine. It also gets the chromed-out look. This year, the Deuce wears a new Badlander®-inspired seat. Just to give you a little more incentive to stop looking and get in the saddle.

Timeless

A16. 2005 FLSTCI Heritage Softail Classic EFI

Twist the throttle of the timeless Heritage Softail® Classic and you are propelled forward and back all at once. Generously studded leather bags. Massive fenders with chrome accents. Wide tires on wire-laced wheels. Detachable king-size windshield. Low two-up seat with backrest. Giant chrome headlight and passing lamps. An eyeful of all these goodies and its easy to see the inspiration for this bike was the early dressers. But in keeping with Harley philosophy, tradition isn't something to be left standing still. So we set the classic hardtail styling in motion with 88 cubic inches of refined internal combustion. The Classic's wrinkle black and chrome Twin Cam 88B", available in carb or EFI, is rigid-mounted but has two counterbalancers to make your ride from yesteryear to modern day a very smooth one.

A beauty

A17. 2005 FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic

You wouldnt be surprised to unearth a beauty like the Heritage Softail® Classic under a dusty cloth in Grandpas barn. With studded leather bags, big fenders, giant chrome headlight and passing lamps. For the rider who dreams of classic style, there could be nothing better. But those seeking a modern-day machine will also find this an ideal ride. See the Carburetted Twin Cam 88B engine for evidence. Its eighty-eight cubic inches of refined internal combustion. We rigid-mounted it, but two ingenious counterbalancers cancel out all but the good vibrations. Theres a hidden rear suspension. Wire-laced wheels inside blackwall tires. And a low seat height. So no matter what kind of bike you like, its easy to swing a leg over this one.

Solid, massive

A18. 2005 FLSTFI Fatboy EFI

When you see a bike like this one, you understand this is what a motorcycle ought to be. Big and solid and massive. With full metal fenders. Fork tubes like tree trunks. A chrome headlight the size of a boulder. And a beefy V-Twin to send it down the road, commanding attention with every thump. That's what you get with the Fat Boy®. And that's probably why they've been a mainstay on American roads from the first day they set giant wheels to asphalt. Understandably, there is much to like here. Solid disc wheels. Wide 150mm rear tire. Floorboards large enough for Big Foot-sized boots. And a hearty, counterbalanced, Electronic Fuel injected Twin Cam 88B. motor beating in its chest.

One-of-a-kind

A19. 2005 FXSTS Softail Springer

Here's one you know the instant you catch a glimpse of the front end. The Springer® Softail®. Nothing short of a masterpiece of modern engineering, the leading-link exposed-spring suspension again returns for the 2005 lineup. Once dormant for forty years, the gorgeous chromed design has become a favorite of traditionalists. Not to mention, a favorite of those liking a machine that rides unlike anything else. This year, the Springer® comes at you with a new seat and low-rise handlebar, for more custom styling and a bolder riding position. You get wire-laced wheels, chromed components and classic bobtail fender. And a counterbalanced Twin Cam 88B. engine, rigid-mounted for a one-of-a-kind feel. Just to match the one-of-a-kind looks.

Blacked-out

03 52232102

A20. 2005 FXSTB Night Train

The blacked-out theme and stunning new Lava Red Sunglo paint of the Night Train® are enough to pop any set of eyeballs from their sockets. But you really have to ride this animal to appreciate it. So plant yourself in the minimalist seat, stretch your boots to the forward foot controls, reach to the drag bar, and there's no holding back. It feels aggressive. No wonder we had to get dark with the styling. A black powder-coated, counterbalanced carb-fueled Twin Cam 88B. power mill with wrinkle textured-black covers. Black tank console, black rear fender supports, black air cleaner cover and black oil tank. We gave it a laced front and disc rear wheels. Then topped it with a new 3-D tank medallion, finished in aluminum and, of course, black.
