2005 HONDA CRF230F

PRESS RELEASE: 16 JAN 2005

HONDA'S CRF230F AN ALL ROUND FAMILY PLEASER

Visiting a local dealer to pick out a bike that will make everyone in the
family happy is a lot easier with the Honda range, particularly now that
the latest CRF230F is available.

Honda recognises that those who are relatively new to the world of off road
riding can find it daunting to make a decision about which bike to
purchase.

More often than not, kids have one thing in mind. They want a bike they can
have fun on with their mates for twelve months of the year.

Parents want an all rounder ? something that is durable and reliable, as
well as being easy to ride for both themselves as well as their child.

Fortunately, Honda has a solution that will keep everyone in the family
happy.

The CRF230F combines performance and family recreation, as well
user-friendly features such as an electric start and race bike inspired
styling in a package that's fun for everyone.

All of this equates to a bike that has proven to be a winner for Honda as
well as those who own this family friendly machine.

Now in its third year of production, the popular CRF230F features a
dependable 223cc air-cooled 4-stroke single-cylinder engine that delivers
smooth, even power and torque across a wide rpm-range making it the perfect
enduro for teens and the young at heart.

And it's rider-focussed features don't stop there. The convenience of
electric start, plus a smooth shifting 6-speed gearbox, an easy-to-use
heavy duty clutch, and a 26mm carby offering superb throttle response, mean
the CRF230F is a bike built for fun.

With its low and slim motocross style seat, powerful 240mm front disc
brake, box section aluminium swingarm and Pro-Link rear suspension, the
CRF230F also offers sure and easy handling.

Its lightweight high tensile steel frame wrapped in CRF Honda
Racing-inspired bodywork, translates to hard edged looks ? an important
factor for kids who like to be the leader of the pack.

"Honda realised some time ago the importance of being able to provide a
motorcycle for everyone, whether they be small or big, young or old,
beginner or expert," said Honda Australia's National Sales Manager, Tony
Hinton.

"The CRF230F as well as its younger brother, the CRF150F are designed
specifically with families in mind," he continued. "These are fantastic
bikes for anyone who wants to get out and have a good time, but doesn't
want quite the level of aggressiveness of a race bike."

Honda introduced this model into the market as an entry level dirt bike
that would appeal to people of all ages. What's even more appealing is the
price tag.

With a recommended retail price of $5690, it is one of the most affordable
high quality recreational bikes available today.
