FAIRED CB1300S SURE TO
PLEASE LONG DISTANCE RETRO RIDERS
Honda's big-bore in-line
4 muscle bike, the CB1300, has been a popular
choice over the past couple of years for fans of 1980's Superbike styling
coupled with modern performance standards.
Originally designed as Honda's
ultimate statement in naked motorcycles, the
torquey, comfort focused CB1300 is now available with a fairing, a feature
sure to please those who are looking for an all-day, all-weather riding
bike.
In addition to the half cowled
fairing complete with smoked tinted screen
designed to complement its stark, mechanical lines, the bike has had
a
number of other new features incorporated for 2005.
Convenient lids on either
side of the rider's cockpit area have been added
to provide handy one litre capacity storage compartments that offer
plenty
of space for small riding essentials. This extra capacity augments the
already spacious 11.4 litre compartment located under the seat.
The fairing's elegantly built-in
electronic instrument panel also now
features main dials illuminated from the back by a soft, pale blue glow
for
fantastic recognition at night.
To ensure optimum riding
ease, slimmer profile sidecovers have been
introduced. The benefits of this new design pay off in greater long-term
riding comfort, and an easier reach to the ground for riders of all
heights.
The CB1300's monstrous and
finely crafted 1284cc liquid-cooled engine
continues to be the main attraction of this all-rounder, and this remains
unchanged from earlier versions.
To complement its breathtaking
performance through the rev range, however,
engineers approached the age old problem of improving low speed handling
in
a big fuel-injected engine by modification to its ignition system.
The result is a smoother
throttle response, and along with a redesigned
clutch and wheel dampers, any remaining jolts of annoying jerkiness
at low
speed have been dealt with.
The 2005 CB1300S is available
in a Pearl Fadeless White with Arcadian Red
colour scheme evoking distinctive ties to the big racers of old.
Honda Dealers will
have the CB1300S in stock by May 2005 with a RRP of
$15,390.
